Phonesy places great importance on your privacy. We process only the data necessary for providing our services and always handle it with care. We never sell your data to third parties.
This privacy policy applies to the use of our website and all Phonesy services. On this page, you can read which data we collect, why we do so, how we protect it and what rights you have.
1. What data do we process?
Depending on your use of our website and services, we may process the following data:
- Name, address and city
- Email address and telephone number
- Order and payment information
- Device information when you sell a device to us (e.g. IMEI, battery status, technical inspection data)
- IP address, browser and device data
- Data about your website usage
We process only data that is necessary for the purposes described.
2. Why do we process this data?
We use your data for:
- Processing and delivering orders
- Customer service, warranty and returns processing
- Processing payments securely and correctly
- Processing and inspection when selling a device to Phonesy
- Statutory administrative obligations
- Improving our website and services
We do not use your data for unsolicited advertising without your consent.
3. Who do we share data with?
Data is shared with processors, such as the following, only when necessary for the provision of our services:
- Shopify (hosting & webshop software) – IP address, entered data, analytics
- Shopify Payments / PayPal / Apple Pay / iDEAL (payment processing) – name, payment information, order number
- MyParcel / PostNL (shipping label & parcel delivery) – name, address, email
- Accountant (statutory administration) – invoice & transaction data
Shopify – hosting & data storage
Our website runs on Shopify. Shopify complies with the GDPR and may process data in, among other locations, the EU, the United States and Canada. Our data processing agreements guarantee that your data is used only for the agreed purposes and is secured.
Reviews – WebwinkelKeur
We collect reviews through the WebwinkelKeur platform. If you leave a review via WebwinkelKeur, you are required to provide your name and e-mail address. WebwinkelKeur shares this data with us so that we can link the review to your order. WebwinkelKeur also publishes your name on its own website. When we invite you to leave a review, we share your name and e-mail address with WebwinkelKeur. They use this data solely for the purpose of inviting you to leave a review. WebwinkelKeur has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data.
4. Security
We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent misuse, loss, and unauthorized access to data by means of:
- Encrypted connections (SSL/HTTPS)
- Strict access controls
- Regular system updates and security
5. Retention periods
We do not retain data longer than necessary:
- Orders and invoices: 7 years as required by law
- Contact requests: maximum 12 months after resolution
- Purchase device data: maximum 7 years (accounting/legal requirements)
After this period, the data will be deleted or anonymized.
6. Your rights (GDPR)
You may always access your data, have it corrected, object to its processing, have it deleted (to the extent permitted by law), and request and have your data transferred. You can submit a privacy request via info@phonesy.nl. You will receive a response within 30 days.
7. Cookies
Our website uses cookies to improve functionality and collect statistics. On your first visit, a cookie notice will be displayed in which you can set your preferences. More information can be found in our Cookie Policy.
8. Selling your device to Phonesy
When selling your device, we process information such as the IMEI and technical data for valuation, theft prevention, and iCloud and authenticity checks via software. If fraud or theft is suspected, we may be required to share data with the police or authorities.
9. Complaints
Are you dissatisfied with our privacy policy or the processing of your data? Please contact us via info@phonesy.nl. You also always have the right to submit a complaint to the Dutch Data Protection Authority: autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
10. Changes to this policy
Phonesy may amend this privacy policy when our services change. The most recent version is always available on our website. In the event of significant changes, we will inform you by e-mail.
